Give me some fresh colors
The holidays are over and so is the time for dark, wintery colors, at least in my world. After seeing some great stuff at a nearby Design Center (thanks Maren) I decided it was totally time to do some spring remodeling at our house. And what better place to start with, than the often neglected and creatively challenging bookshelf, right? After a week of serious wrapping, sewing, stamping, decluttering and reorganizing, this is what I came up with.
Tomatoes, anyone?
Who would have thought, but all the work and care is finally paying of and you are about to witness our first home-grown tomatoes in JANUARY!! Fabulous, I know. And I guess one of the perks of living in Southern CA. Some are already the size of a golf ball, while others are still tiny, but they're all coming along very well. Looks like there will be a lot of tomato dishes on the menu, soon...

A new addition
I know, this may probably come as a bit of a surprise for some of you, but we think it's about time now to let the cat out of the bag. We're proud to announce the arrival of a new addition to our family. It was a big step for all of us, so it had to be well considered, but in the end, we all knew what would be the right thing to do.
We awarded ourselves with a brand new Canon Rebel XSI SLR camera for christmas! After my own little camera broke sometime last year (note to self: don't drop it in a pile of sand on the beach) and we had to resort to Richie's I-can't-believe-they-even-considered-this-a-camera-at-some-point-model, I have to say, this thing is just incredible. It truly feels like being the kid in the candy store again with all the features and possibilities. So, of course I have been doing what every excited mom would do first: Snapping a gazillion pictures of my favorite little object!
Hidden potential
Some of us might not be completely convinced yet, but ever since I discovered this little treasure on craigslist I knew it had to be ours. Yes, it does need some love (sanding, staining etc. ) but I'm sure it will be so worth it.
